I find this article very intriguing. The definition of success is wrapped up in finances and in how many degrees you have. Don't get me wrong....I have multiple degrees. But that isn't what makes me successful. Actually I have struggled with finances due to the job market. So, to the outsider, I may be viewed as unsuccessful. My definition of success is making a difference through community, connection and love. And yes, I am successful. I made a difference to my dad, and others that have connected to me. I make a difference through my writing on Medium, even though I ma not making any money....yet. You don't need to be a "professional" in the traditional sense to be a writer. You write because you love it and are making a difference.
